Miriam M. Davis, 84, of Tallahassee died Saturday (9/26) at Westminster Oaks. A native of Sarasota, she came to Tallahassee in 1965 from Marietta, GA. She was a member of John Wesley United Methodist Church and was very active and involved in the church ministries. She volunteered for Meals on Wheels until just last year. One of her favorite pastimes was to do puzzles.
She was preceded in death by her husbands, David Eugene Burslem who died in 1965 and Dennis "Pete" Davis who died in 1999. She is survived by her son, David E (Deborah) Davis of Apalachicola; daughter: Lori (Wesley) Earley of Greenville, NC; sisters, Ruth Roddenberry of Tallahassee, Norma Schouboe of Lincoln, Nebraska, Nancy Shepard of Springdale, Arkansas; and grandchildren, Thomas Hartsfield of Lewisville, TX; Noah Earley, Gabriel Earley, James Dansereau, Jessica Dansereau, and Josh Dansereau.
Funeral services will be at John Wesley United Methodist Church on Wednesday (9/30) at 11:00 AM with a reception to follow. Interment and committal services will follow at 2:00 PM in MeadowWood Memorial Park, 700 Timberlane Rd, Tallahassee, FL. For friends who wish, the family suggests memorial donations to the John Wesley United Methodist Church, 1689 Old St Augustine Rd, Tallahassee, FL 32301 or the Children's Home Society, 1801 Miccosukee Commons Dr., Tallahassee, FL 32308 in lieu of flowers. Culley's MeadowWood Funeral Home is in charge of services.
