John Robert Buchanan, 81, veteran of the Spanish American War, and one of the most prominent citizens of the county, died at his home on ninth street late Tuesday afternoon as a result of an automobile accident earlier in the afternoon.
John Robert Buchanan served in the Spanish American War in the 3rd Ga. Reg. under Capt. Burr and Capt. Kimbrough. He was born and reared in Carroll Co., but moved to Pike Co. where he operated a grist mill for 49 yrs.
Interment will be in the Oak Hill Cemetery in Griffin, Ga. |
