	Alma L. Halley, 58, of Panama City, went to be with Jesus on Tuesday, June 19, 2012. Alma was a native and lifelong resident of Bay County, and a 1972 graduate of Rutherford High School. She was a licensed practical nurse at The Panama City Urological Center and was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Panama City. Alma enjoyed fishing, camping and spending time with her family and friends. Survivors include her husband of 39 years, Larry W. Halley; her children, Jennifer Woods and husband Cabott and Wes Halley and wife Kelly, all of Panama City; her brothers, Royce Hall and wife Tricia of Dallas, Texas, Tommy Hall and wife Shirl of Charlotte, N.C., and Harold Hall and wife Jodene of Picayune, Miss.; a sister, Barbara McDurman of Norfolk, Va.; her grandchildren, Savannah Woods, Nolan Woods, Bria Halley and Kason Halley; her special friends, Natalie and Bill Worthington; and numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral services will begin at 11 a.m. Friday, June 22, 2012, at the Kent-Forest Lawn Funeral Home Chapel with the Revs. Luther Stanford and Steve Rascoe officiating. Interment will follow at Evergreen Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Thursday, June 21, 2012, from 6-8 p.m. Asked to serve as pallbearers are Jason Hall, Larry Hall, Buddy Hall, Jeff Hall, Edward Hall, Chris Holden, Tim Stallings, Chad Weiler, Rodney Stallings, Joe Chavarria and Jeremy Bennett. Honorary bearers will be Dr. Neal Dunn, Dr. Dennis Healy, Dr. Jay Beiswanger, Dr. Carlos Ramos, Dr. Nicole Eisenbrown, Dr. Mike Jenkins, Dr. Warren Hitt, Jay Wilkins, PA, and the staff of the Panama City Urological Center.

This ruling gave Florida to the Bush camp by a 527 vote majority, and a victory in the Electoral College, 271-266, despite gaining less popular votes than Gore.

This economic distress, coupled with oil prices above $140 per barrel during the summer, deepened the world economic crises that had been brewing all year. 48	2001	September 11, 2001 - 911 - Islamic fundamentalist terrorists hijack four U.S. airliners and crash them into the Pentagon and the World Trade Center in New York City. The attack of two planes levels the World Trade Center and the crash of one plane inflicts serious damage to the Pentagon in Arlington, Virginia, causing nearly 3,000 deaths. The fourth plane is heroically crashed by passengers into a Shanksville, Pennsylvania cornfield when they learn of the plot, preventing destruction of another structure in Washington, D.C., supposed to be the White House or the Capitol building. The plot is attributed to the Al-Qaeda organization led by Osama Bin Laden.

57	2010	April 20, 2010 - A British Petroleum deep water oil rig explodes in the Gulf of Mexico, causing the largest oil spill in the history of the United States, killing eleven workers, and devastating the envirnoment. It also severely damaged the fishing and tourism industries of gulf states.
58	2011	March 15, 2011 - The largest recorded earthquake hits Japan followed by a huge tsunami. Three nucular power plants are danaged and remain in critical status for the next six weeks. Manufacturing plants in Japan can no longer produce and impacts the world economy.
