| Frank Byrd Patterson was born about 1826 somewhere in Mississippi and died on July 3, 1864 in Richmond, Virginia. Actual date of birth is unknown. He lived to be about 38 years old.
He was a Cherokee Indian. He was a Farmer and he served in the CSA FL 11th Reg. Inf. Co. C. This regiment was under Captain E. A. Curry and assigned to Finegan's Florida Brigade in June of 1864. By mid June they had arrived then organized at Hanover Junction, VA and marched to Chaffin's Bluff, on from there they marched to Petersburg. On June 22nd they were involved in the the Battle of Jerusalem Plank road. Bird was hospitalised from wounds he received and died on the 3rd day of July.
