Born in Island of Dyskland (near Stavanger), Norway on September 20, 1843 and died in Harlan (Shelby County), Iowa on August 2, 1928. He was 84 years old.

Born in Norway he is reported to have been a sailor for 16 years before immigrating to America. He moved to Iowa and lived most of his live in the Irwin, Iowa area. ...
