In 1916 O.C. Van Brunt opened this hardware store in Tallahassee, then Peyton Lockey Yon went into partnership with him in 1923. O.C. Van Brunt died in 1929. The first store was on the corner of Jefferson and S. Adams Street. Peyton’s son David Peyton Yon, eventually took over the operation and relocated it to its last location on Gaines street.
