| John William Koser was born on December 18, 1859 in Stephenson County, Illinois and died on January 30, 1937 in Tracy, Lyon County, Minnesota. He lived to be 77 years old.
He and Nancy Jane Moothart were married on Feb. 3, 1881 in Stephenson County, Illinois. They had the following children:
- Mattie Lee (1884-1945)
- Rufus W. (Ruthford?) (1886-1956)
- Chester Arthur (1888-?)
- Ross Porter (1890-1949)
- Carrie Ethyl (1892-1965)
- Hazle M. (1896-1952)
John and his brother Jacob E. were twins. Jacob died in 1917 from injuries sustained in an accidental fall. During an overnight hunting trip at the house of his wife's brother in Loran, he fell down the stairs and broke his back. He died the following day from his injuries. His wife, Hattie, died the following year. Probate records show that Olive and Robert Earlenbaugh became guardians to their children, Ellis and Ordreal, on September 30, 1919. Later, on Feb. 25, 1924 Archibald Koser became the guardian to Ordreal.
John was 58 years old when his twin brother died.
