David Samuel Bailey was born on August 17, 1866 in Marianna, Florida and died on November 18, 1914 in Jacksonville, Florida. He lived to be 48 years old.

He married on 2/2/1888 to Ella Mahama Coxwell(12/24/1869 Butler Co.GA - 7/9/1957 Blountstown,FL). David was a businessman, farmer and schoolteacher. He owned 400 acres of land. He died from a ruptured appendix on the way to a hospital in Jacksonville.
